Based on my original tune for big band, Orange County is an introduction to ‘Rhythm Changes,’ a song form based on the tune I Got Rhythm. It’s in B-flat, arguably the most common key in jazz, and introduces students to basic jazz sensibilities and chords. A complete melody and chord workout, Orange County is another piece that’s two complete etudes in 1!
